I almost want to buy it somewhere else now but they have mine in the back. Just so random how he tryed to re schedule my delevery date. Some back story. It's simple math. He works purely on commission. If you take delivery from him he gets 100% of the commission. If you take delivery on his day off he has to split his commission with the sales guy that delivers the car to you. It's nothing more than common courtesy to take delivery from him. What's a day anyhow? If he's a good guy wait the day. If you don't care, take delivery from some one else.

I work in the car business, I can see why he would want to preserve his one day off during the week. Please be understanding, these guys work 13-15 hours a day with no sort of guaranteed income. Time off is precious.

Look at it from the other perspective. Is it rude for you to insist he takes his day off to deliver your car because you cannot wait one more day?

That being said, when I was a salesperson, I would come in on my day off to do a delivery. But I live 5 minutes from the dealership, and I'm a bit of a workaholic. Reason I'm a manager now.

My sales guy was the easiest most coolest guy ever. Steve Tucker at Lexus/Toyota/Scion here in Kitchener. He went above and beyond and his service was beyond excellence. He told me three weeks to a month for my car because of how rare my colour was. But he pulled all the strings he could and found my car in 2 days! I also got lucky with the timing though. He was so awesome that he threw in free tint! I also loved that he is a true car guy like me too. Everything went as smooth as it possibly could. Best car transaction ever.

If the car is in the back, what makes you think it won't be ready earlier?

Sorry but the Op feels the salesperson is off base and if he's old enough to buy a car he's old enough to understand this is a paid job for the salesperson.
I suspect that 'rude' was just a hastily chosen word as the salesperson is human and any normal human being a knowledges people need a day off their job despite the. momentous occasion when you buy an economy car.

Why this particular day, July 23rd. Is that when your tickets won't affect insurance? If the car is already sitting in the back of the dealer like you said, can't you go and look at it, approve of condition (no scratches, etc) and sign the papers, leave it parked there. Then all you would need is to wait til insurance is good and drive it off the lot on the 23rd since it will already be yours, no need for salesguy?

^ This is how I perceived your situation, I could of missed something in your explanation.
