i used Shell Rotella T6 5W-40 in my old sti and probably will use it in my brz when I turbo it. It cut down on oil consumption, but 5w-30 weight should be fine.

Some burn Mobil1 5W-30, but Rotella T6 should be compared to Mobil1 Turbo Diesel Truck 5W-40. TDT is thicker in all temps than RT6.

As far as viscosity goes, I would go with whatever was recommended by your tuner. On stock internals, I would not go any thicker than a robust 30 weight like German Castrol 0W-30. Unless someone has uoa's showing the oil is not holding up well, or showing that there is not sufficient oil pressure.

Sorry to revive this, but I figured its better than starting a new one.

Is anyone here winter driving their boosted 86's? What weight oil are you using? Hoping for someone from Canada or the northern states will chime in..

Thanks!
