Best oil for turbo engine
Hey guys
What's the best oil for turbo engines. I'm about to boost my car and I've been using motul n love it. But not sure if I should go with different oil or just different weight . Thx |
Users preference, I like royal purple.

I ran either Amsoil or Motul in my previous turbo cars. You really can't go wrong with either. Amsoil has a program you can join for a low price to get much better pricing.

Here are my suggestions for our cars running turbo on 0w20:
factory Intervals: Subaru SM 0w20, prefer its chemistry over the SN Idemitsu SM(same as stuff above) Motul's eco lite or regular 2nd choice(daily drive top notch) Eneos Sustina or regular 2nd choice(sent my car to dynotuning with this in it and is my DD, when available, otherwise we just use subaru SM in our BRZs) Torco SR1 If you dont mind the cost for track usage these are the onse liked most by both turbo bearings and engines alike, but arent suggested for interval use: Torco SR5(just scored some myself!) 300V Are they worth it? I certainly think so if you do HPDE and track, and drive it hard NA, or have FI. Have fun! |
JESUS. Again, dude? First the clutch, now the oils. What's next? "Hey guys, should I get someone to drive me around, or do it myself?"
For some stupid reason I thought you may have learned to research and figure this shit out from the clutch thread. Guess not. /done |

^This. With heat being the main concern in most turbo engines, theoretically speaking (I'm no expert, of course), thinner oil is better at absorbing heat than thicker oil.
