Ya, if I hadn't had it firmly in my head that he had a MT for some weird reason (he never once says it) I may have clued in.

Brake light switch -that's it - dealer claimed that was the cause for ABS and Slip indicator as well as car not turning over

Edit:

Thought so. No sensors.

This is right on the money. Wish I found this earlier. Yes I have an AT but always used the manual mode except when I have food or drink in one hand...

Thanks for pointing out this bulletin.

Kinda smart... Look at the master cylinder pressure, see the increase in pressure, realize the brakes switch is not closed (Or open, or what ever the position should be).

I will try this as well!
After I upgraded all my brakes the lights go off. Even more in traffic or when I merge

For the 2nd time in 4 months, this problem came back on my 2017 BRZ. Dealer said the brake light switch simply broke for unknown reason. I also hadn't touched that part of the cabin either (eg. Did not change mat, etc)

When I expressed concerns if this could happen while driving, the service person simply shrugs...

Now I feel very confident about my car... and the weather is just getting nice.. sigh..
