I never noticed a seasonal correlation. Seems all the time is time for these threads. Probably in the top 5 topics.

Im more concerned about clutch disc wearing, when you dont rev enough and "drag" the clutch
as opposite when you rev more and car "lurges" forward.

assuming proper technique, the only thing you're wearing out more when excessively double clutching is your throwout bearing, and to a lesser extent your pressure plate.

In fact I would make the case that double clutching is worse for this car than "regular shifting".

Just look up the problems with throwout bearings.
Double clutching will wear out your throwout bearing faster due to the repeated loading/unloading.

So...... NO.
Don't do something that has effectively ZERO benefit just to be cool.

Put a hello kitty band aid on your reverse lockout and you will never have to worry about wear and tear

At least you guys have a clutch.

I'll just sit here in the corner of the room, staring at the circle of cool kids as they converse and point fingers while snickering at me.

I know jack about squat.

OP, do what feels right to you. I used to double-clutch all my downshifts until the synchros broke in around 9K. I still do it sometimes when it's cold.

But hell, maybe all that double-clutching and ginger touch just extended the break-in period. I'm at 20K now. It's still getting better.

TOB, synchros, whatever... parts is parts. Just replace them when they wear out.

Do you still double pump your brakes when you first hit them ..... ??

I know we used to do that, to pump up the lines and to make sure the brakes were still "there".

So, why do I still do that ...... ??
