My car was made in may 2012, haven't had a CEL issue yet!

I took delivery fresh off the boat dec 2012, 9000 HARD miles later i have not had a single issue

I would wait for the 14's. Maybe they will have fixes for the dip in the torque curve at that time.

My BRZ has 2 records, too, when I purchased it. One was related to transportation to the dealer and I can't remember what the other one was. It might be related to pre-inspection.
