I always thought the wind noise was due to the large side mirrors and the channel of air they create between them and the window.

There are several people with the same complaint on the FRS.
Have your dealer adjust the window. |

I'm always afraid to have the dealer touch my car unless I can show them exactly what is wrong. I could see them adjust the window and make it worse. Just paranoid I guess! I'm starting to think the sound is coming from that small window on the passanger side door.

Mine is quiet so far, only 800 miles though. Most quiet out of all the Subaru's I have owned.

UPDATE: So I finally got the weatherstripping replaced by Subaru after complaining about it twice. The wind noise I was experiencing was like your window is down a crack (abnormal) vs the sound of wind actually hitting the window (apparently normal).
The tech showed me the old weather stripping and how it did have a crack lengthwise where the two points of plastic/rubber are melted together. Now after the replacement, The wind noise is 80%-90% improved. Still has the "air hitting the window" noise at high speeds but not the window being down a crack noise. Id suggest the best way to tell is to compare passenger vs drivers side wind noise. Mine was noticeably worse on the drivers side Very glad I had it changed. Total install time took them 45-60 minutes. side note: They did insist to me multiple times that what I was hearing was normal (even with ride alongs) so dont be afraid to be persistent if you feel its an issue. Side note #2: That small cracking of the plastic on the superior surface of the triangle portion of the window that does not roll down was not changed and still has the crack. But this had no effect on the wind noise improvement.
