Any updates. I have a revworks vented can as well and am also boosted. Seeing lots of fumes coming from under the hood when it's warmed up. It's been so Long since I really drove the car I can't remember if it's normal or not.

Decided to upgrade engine internals, so waiting for the parts now. See no point in opening and rehauling the engine without that upgrade Will remove restrictor from my HKS v2 so that it blows 1 bar and once it dies (every HKS SC dies sooner or later) will go for some turbo.

Efferalgan,

I was just cleaning my engine bay and noticed some oil on the underside of the charge pipe from the supercharger to the intercooler. The stuff was black and sticky and smelled more like traction fluid than oil or oil with fuel diluted in it.

Anyway, when you found all that oil in your throttle body, are you sure it was motor oil and not traction fluid? Mine could be residue from the catastrophic failure last year as my traction fluid reservoir oil is crystal clear and no detectable loss from the fill in February.

Can't say for sure now. It was black-black and oily. The traction fluid has very specific strong smell and that was not it.

Here is apparently the cause of the oil vapor. 2 bent rods, probably have been for quite a long time. Damaged the block a bit. Not sure whether the crankshaft if OK. I bought a new engine to install forged components and set the CR at 10:1. Even a supercharger at 0.75 bar boost can bend the rods as you can see. All those who blow into stock blocks - be alert!

Sorry to hear that man. I hope the build goes well. I've got a couple of questions, if you wouldn't mind.

What tune and fuel were you running? Do you have any logs to show how well it was running?

Delicious F&G. 98 RON gas. No logs. I was tracking/pushing it to redline daily till the last day. Did not hear/notice any failure signs apart from that oil in the intake. So, I suspect that many boosted guys will never know that their rods are slightly bent until they open the block. It's an NA car after all in its stock form
