Mine is very minimal that's why I'm in no hurry to fix it. By Problematic I'm stating that I have had more problems than just the chirp/cricket noise

Ditto. I just heard the cricket sound as well. I notice it more after you really get on it. But on the same token, if it hasn't been fixed by this tsb, it's not worth having the dealer tear it apart. Seeing some dealerships can't even change a filter, I wish I could change this myself.

It appears so. I remember reading before this thread someone who works as a tech in SD,CA for a toyota dealership mentioned there was a new part for real this time and it has appeared to fix the crickets for good on his and a few other FR-S's

I have an appointment on Friday at Irvine. However, it's an appointment to see if they will order the part so they will have to determine if it's something they will replace. If they don't hear the chirping, they won't fix it. I've heard the crickets many times and it used to be a daily thing, but recently, it's been intermitant and not as loud. My guess is, I'm going to go in Friday and they won't hear anything. DOH!

Yea I would never take my car back to power toyota scion of Irvine ever again. Be warned. Worst dealership ever. I live in orange county and go to buena park. Way better.

as for the other noises that were mentioned above. the ticking is the toyota direct injection, injectors, they are pretty noisy, even in Lexus'. I had a 350z before and its injectors were even louder lol, dont get me started on the noises my wrx made >_<

id say if you are getting something other than injector noise then you might have a bigger problem

most dealerships in Irvine have bad service departments or bad customer and sales reviews, its a stuck up neighboorhood catering to dbags. I know, i live here lol.

but I take my car to Irvine subaru, and they so far have done good work. I bought my car from Rennick and I dont trust them since they have a whole thread of bad reviews. If you were in san diego I would say go to frank subaru, they are a very mod friendly dealership.

I'm not sure if Toyota Scion of Irvine is the same as Subaru of Irvine? I don't recall another dealership lot nearby?
