The manual does have a sport mode which allows you a little less intervention from the nannies, I'd use it on canyon runs hence it does allow the tail to kick out, but would correct it if it's too much.

If your talking about the electronic torque converter lockup.. I thought that was only engaged in high gear.. Or are you referring to the stall speed of the tc ?

Yes, spinning your car badly can typically result in a stall - especially with an auto

I have generally experienced stalls in bad spins with several cars. I drive MT cars and usually am on the clutch and brake immediately. Still stalls. I think the sideways shock load on the engine does it, especially with stock engine mounts and suspension.

You should try and see if the "Pedal Dance" will work with an AT car. See this thread:

Check your PCV line from intake manifold down back of motor, this blew off/got loose and caused the exact issue for a few track guys.

Seems to be an Automatic trans issue and not an issue with the car. Try driving the car up a steep hill - while you are driving up the hill, come to a complete stop, and let the car roll backwards with your foot off the brake or gas - it will likely stall (make sure the hill is steep enough to allows the car to roll back - if the car doesn't have an anti roll back feature).

It's the nature of Automatic transmissions. Sorry.

Whichever. I just know that Autos stall out in spins much much easier than Manuals. It appears to be because the TC doesn't allow the engine to spin independent of the driveline in these situations.

Could be wrong on the auto since I spent as little time as possible in the auto.
here's what i'm referring to - the MT has a 'VSC sport' button on the right side, which activates the VSC Sport mode:

The AT also has the VSC Sport button on the right side, but there's an additional Sport button in the middle as well (above the snow button) - it's not the same as VSC Sport. The Sport mode button in the middle just allows higher revs before gear changes - something that you'd do yourself on an MT.

I was able to do it 4 times, after reading the posts I believe it was the going backwards at the end of the spin which makes sense.
