just to let you guys know, you don't have to tape off the actual tire with newspaper and tape. If you get over spray you can just peel it off , depending on how many coats you applied. I did 4 coats and it came off clean.
And another thing, if you do do this, remember to cut the plasti-dip from where the lug nuts go. I made the mistake of not doing this and when I was putting the wheels back on it started to peel from the inside. Now I have to redo them again. |

I was actually going to try this out using white -- thanks! I'm definitely going to do it!.
going to spray over the scion logo as well. White plastidip looks really nice on those wheels now. |

Not bad... I am assuming the peeling on the inside of the spokes is just general wear and tear? At least it seems like it protected the wheel well.
Do you plan on taking the plasti-dip off and doing it again? Also, how much did you guys spend to do this? Like $20-$40 for the plasti-dip? |

-pull some plastic/news paper through the spokes and cover your brakes (calipers, rotor, etc.) you don't want plastidip on those ![]() -As somebody mentioned, its not necessary to completely cover your tires (w/ news paper, etc) but you probably would want to cover your body panels, fenders, etc. Just easier to remove those instead of carefully peeling off. -Make sure to roll your car forward/backward (to rotate the wheels) every or every other coat, this way you spray every angle of the wheel and get a nice even coat. Or... do them 2 at a time (front, then back) or just get another set of jack stands, they do come in handy. Have fun! |

mine held up pretty well for the last 6 months... but started peeling a little on the side of the spokes and around the edge of the rim. Pretty good considering all the driving and even 2 track days. Time for a respray... I just started to peel it off one of the rims yesterday, it is actually a bit of a pain to take off. Probably because I didn't spray enough thickness on, but also because the spokes are fairly thin and it doesn't come off in fat pieces like it would off a wide spoked rim.
I take my wheels off to spray them, makes it easier to make sure you didn't miss a spot. Anyways I am thinking instead of peeling the rest off I will just respray the other wheels that are still in decent condition. Also trying a different color, just ordered 4 cans of the new Anthracite color and the glossifier from dipyourcar.

I was having a hard time getting the brake dust off after a track day yesterday. Seems the brake material is stuck on the plasti dip
