That's a pretty aggressive fitment. CHeck out this thread and see what others have done:

You can get it done with lots of camber, Lower control arms, coilovers and skinny tires
215 or 225

FWIW, I ran that tire size and it really made the car feel more sluggish. Granted, the wheels were bigger (17x9) and not light, but they were within a pound or so of stock anyway.

Might as well sell the tires to some WRX guy and pick up either 225/45 or 245/40 as suggested previously. I had really wanted 245/40 but after some spirited driving on 225s, I really don't think this car needs anything wider except for looks. Just get a good compound.

If you are buying wheels and they already have 235/45R17, (I think is what you're asking) they will fit although they are taller, and it will alter your gearing by 2.8% (you will be travelling 2.8% faster than your indicated speed). But it will affect your acceleration more because of the gearing, which is not a good thing (unless you don't care about it). But they will fit and not rub.

Better tire size would be 245/40R17 which is almost exactly same as stock.
thanks for the info! i might go that route, however i thought 245 will stick out of the fender well too much in the front on stock height? i noticed my rears have a little bit more space to fit a wider tire so thats why i went with the 245 in the rears. also, whats the reason people go lower profile in the rears by 5mm than in the front and not the same profile for front and rears? thanks!

Any issues with putting 225s on a 17x7 wheel? I know it'll fit but is there a risk of the sidewall buckling under autocross and hugh speed turns?

No issues at all, 225s are perfectly well suited to a 17x7.

I've been reading many of the threads on wheels, to include the stickies and have gotten decently spun up on it. I must say, I'm not all that tech savvy when it comes to cars, but I just want to ask before I place my order. I believe the XXR 527 in matte bronze would look awesome on my lightning red BRZ.

Ideally I was going to do the 18X8.75 [+35], but they are always out of stock. I was wondering if I will have any issues, or if anyone else has used the +20 offset and would it cause me issues? I haven't lowered the car yet, but will do so in the future. Thanks for the help.

And any thoughts on these tires?

That's going to poke a bit, especially in front. Might look OK with a good amount of negative camber, though. May rub after lowering, but I couldn't say from experience. My last set was 9" wide +28 so that means yours will have 2.65mm less poke. Mine did not rub at all, but I wasn't lowered. I just was not happy with the look, or the heavy wheels.

I haven't used those tires, but mine were 235 Federals, and those are more like a 245.

I would stick with the +35, personally. Not sure how close you'd be to the front spring perch, though.
