I'm happy with that. Gamestop is a shameless glorified pawn shop who prey off the used games market for absolutely MASSIVE profit. Give you $3 for a game that they turn around and sell for $40. Let them burn.

yeah i just dont know enough about it. either way im waiting until they are released and we see how they perform in the real world. i cant say that ive seen an online network for a gaming community that has worked out of the box. i also dont like the fact that they are phasing out the used market. im not trying to make a case against the xbox. they are just doing things that i dont particularly value.

It's quite funny when people compare console's to PC's, it's pretty damn pointless to do so.

Consoles are more laid back, casual gaming. For the average home, the average person.

PC gaming is more extreme, the average computer gamer spends more time playing games then the average console gamer. There is also a big investment in parts, need a good knowledge on computers to use and build a PC properly. There also modding the game (Even though IMO that ruins games) which "enhances" the experience.

I use to be a computer gamer for a while, i had an old Alienware (XLT4249U1950U395U1904U93U2905U1390U1) which was fun but i just hated the fact that every two years i felt like i had to do a complete overhaul of parts.
PC gaming isn't for everyone, which is why i don't recommend it to everyone.

Also, i never see my PC gaming friends. I wonder why...

I agree with the buy back price being quite ridiculous. There is no argument from me on that aspect. I have wanted to trade a few games in. After considering that I would only get $3, I think I will just hold on to them and not waste my time.

There is a reason, and that's exclusives. I'm on my PC a lot more than my 360, but I have the 360 for several games I can't get on the PC.

The same could be said for anyone that buys and sells used games. Amazon, Best Buy, Toys R Us, etc..

It's not quite as bad anymore, but I have a feeling we're going to jump forward again for a short bit with this next generation of hardware. Actually, a lot of this blame lies on the consoles for holding back the PC gaming experience because so many things are just ported over, without significant upgrades that the PC could handle and the consoles can't. I've gotten to where I don't feel like I need a complete overhaul for probably five years or so now, and the more mainstream graphics cards can give outstanding performance for 150-200 dollars as long as you're not one of the type who has to have everything on ultimate detail, running a 2560x1600x3 setup..

I've been down this road with the current gen. I'd recommend waiting until at least two friends who you would play with get one of the systems, then just buy the same one.

and if you don't have friends, buy the PS4... japanese consoles like japanese cars tend to age better.

I have been a dedicated Forza Motorsports fan since Forza 1. Between Forza 5 and Project Destiny... Xbox One is a no-brainer for me.

PS4 but I will wait until they release Dark Souls 2 before making the purchase for PS4. Plus PS has always been free to play online. I still play my PS3 and my games don't get chewed up by the console. Hopefully they fix that with the Xbox one.

Based solely on the fact that I love the xbox controller and hate the playstation controller, I am going to get an xbox one. That is seriously the deciding factor for me. Almost all the games I play require buttons as apposed to dual analog, therefor the left analog stick should line up with the right buttons.

As stupid as a reason that may be. I stand by it cause I can't stand the playstation controller. You can blame it on Nintendo, PC that have analog controllers, or the arcade. I believe you get better control with the analog stick versus the d pad buttons on the playstation controller.

This is completely subjective based on the games you like, though. If you like JRPGs and a lot more Japanese-influenced stuff, the PS4 is probably the way to go. But it seems like there are more shooters and American-flavor games on the Xbox.

I assume you mean "Project Destiny" as in Bungie's new game. Bungie was acquired by Activision and Destiny (not a working title project anymore) will be released on 360, PS3, Xbox One, and PS4.

And I'm also jumping on the "the Xbox controller is better" wagon too. I can use either, but that's just my preference. In the end I'd rather not have the whole Xbox proprietary WiFi stack to communicate with the controller though. Sucks trying to find a PC/Xbox/PS compatible wheel.

Dark Souls/Demon Souls has to be the best game I have ever played and kept my attention span. I watched my brother's Xbox destroy the Cd's a lot and may not happen to a lot of people but it is a common problem with them. The Xbox tend to over heat and ruin the disc over a extended period of time " excessive amount of game time" or " leaving the disc in too long while leaving the game idle" aka passing out after playing the game and leaving the game system on with the disc: http://www.kitguru.net/site-news/hig...s-responsible/
