I assume an aftermarket pump that is e85 safe should help with the issue. As long as its not the only thing disintegrating.

The problem is not the pump nor it being E85 ready or not. Its an OEM filter that is embedded inside the fuel canister assembly.

The fuel filter would just be the first thing to fail(the glue dissolves first), eventually the gaskets would fail, then tubing, then eventually the injectors may be damaged. |

I'll check my filter soon. If that's gone then I'm guessing my issues with My DI's are e85 related and not related to this. Honestly all my conditions are pointing towards the Telfon band leaking. The Note* at the bottom fits my driving style most of the time. Last edited by Carwhisperer; 05-28-2013 at 06:41 PM. |

left side gas tank access panel under rear seat
once it is out you need to unclip the fuel pump holding assembly and remove the assembly holding the fuel pump in the sump then look at the botem of the then open sump... |

This is the SPECIFIC reason I didn't want to run E85 on this car for some years, until tons cold hard data were available. I knew all about other Subaru's handling it pretty well, but no one had any data on it working with out DI system.
