TRD CAI
Quote:
There is nothing wrong with the OEM brakes. I'm a 71 yr-old former SCCA racing license holder who likes to stop as well as go. The firmer pedal feel is just one of the cheaper things one can do with the car that improves the drivability for about $100. As I wear the original pads I'll be trying some streetable alternatives as replacements. I installed the TRD CAI without trying other possibilities. Based on my limited experience with racing intake systems, it looked like the one likely to yield the best drivability. Others might make a small amount of more HP, but I suspect they would be peakier and less drivable. |

I just got a new tune from my tuner and wow...this TRD intake is getting even more bad ass! I am about to send more logs to him and it will get ever better.

Should have my intake tomorrow. Hoping to be able to do another dyno in the next few weeks when a couple other people have their cars ready.

Were you with the bunch that did a dyno day up there in VA? If so, where in VA, when, and how much? I might be interested in heading up there if my header/over pipe comes in.

Dealership installed the TRD exhaust and intake today!
Here's a quick review: The good -more low end torque, I can't believe what I was missing -better throttle response -really helps out the torque dip, shifting into second is smoother now -the sound is pure sex, not too loud, no drone, looks beefy! The Bad -God D*mn expensive, did I mention I gave the arm and the leg -Bang for buck kinda goes out the window, you buy this setup because you want that warranty to stay golden, otherwise I'm sure the aftermarket has WAY better deals available |

I'm still torn between +5 hp on a (take your pick) drop in for $55 or +10(?) hp and better throttle response for $365 but being bumped out of SCCA Stock class autocross is worth it. |

We've already seen an impressive gain with a cat back, I hope to be able to show a good gain with a full exhaust over the k&n filter and perrin inlet tube soon. I'd like to see what happens with someone who has a tune. Sent from my SCH-I535 using Tapatalk 2 |

They won't fix any problems under warranty caused by those parts.. But they won't void any warranty.. |
