watch the rally sport direct before and after video of the cusco mounts,
[ame="http://www.youtube.com/watch?feature=player_embedded&v=A7WkMXUgnV0"]http://www.youtube.com/watch?feature=player_embedded&v=A7WkMXUgnV0[/ame] Those mounts are much harder but its a good visual example. The best way I can think to show someone is, drive down the road in say 2nd at 4k rpm. Suddenly lift of the gas and you will feel the engine unload on its mounts, kind of a wump wump wump to put in words. If you repeat this on/off the throttle you will feel the engine mass lurching around as it loads and unloads the mounts. With the factory mounts when you smack the gas pedal some of the engines torque is used to compress the softer mount, creating almost a delayed feeling. A harder mount resists this compression and the power feels more direct. Soft engine mounts have always been a pet peeve of mine. On some of the older BMW track cars I used to work on had a problem that if that mounts weren't harder the engine would move over far enough that the fan would slice up the radiator hose, or under braking move forward enough to leave impressions on the radiator. Good times.

This mod and many others become a "collective" improvement that sometimes you wont realize until you drive a stock car. I hadnt driven a stock BRZ until recently and was blown away at the difference. Each mod(outside of F.I. or good coilovers ) becomes a subtle difference. It all ads up though, for sure.

How can you not notice the terrible lurch in the drivetrain? It gets worse the more you drive, by 50k miles I predict all the stock mounts to be like rubber bands. Strong mounts are one of the few things the engineers missed for this car that the good ole BMW's had. Good to see Sti release a fix so soon, notice I said fix this isn't an upgrade or a "mod" it is an fix to an under spec'd durometer of the stock mounts.

Has anyone installed the STi Steering bushings? Any tips on installation? And maybe a review on after installation on steering feel?

I have the TIC solid aluminum steering bushings. Not the same thing at all, but I just wanted to say that even the solid ones don't increase NVH much or at all. There is certainly more information coming through the steering wheel, but it's not annoying in any way.

These look nice, I like firmer but don't want my car vibrating like most hard aftermarket mounts do. Engine, Trans, & Diff mounts make a lot of sense to me.
