Im on 9.5 +38, so those would be 2mm inward, as in closer to the springs and there for 2mm less poke. It will be tight depending how fat of a tire u run, but u would have the option to run a small spacer if needed. As far as lowering, u would definitely need to camber it, due to the poke, or ur tire would hit the fender

How do I find out if 35 will fit for sure?

KW V3 coilovers btw if that makes fitment more difficult?

It will fit, you need about -2 degrees of camber in the front to fit which shouldn't be too hard if you're running KW's. If you are running coilovers, you could run the +45 offset without issue, so you have a few more choices for fitment.

I'm running 18x9 +35 with 245/35R18's with Eibach Prokit and camber bolts. I could also run 255's if I wanted to.

I would not run a 9" wide +45 with 255mm tire. An 8" +35 with 255mm is close to the suspension as is. Even though the KW will go be you a little more inside clearance.

+35 is a better choice IMO. You can always adjust camber with your KW.

Just install 17x8 +48 with a 225 and the tires are really close to the spring in front. I have about -1 camber using the lower hole, but I think if I used a camber bolt in the top hole, it would be rubbing right now. Stock camber (0) would have room for maybe 235. I don't think I could get away with 235 unless I used a spacer.

I am likely going to pick up some PSM spacers (bolt-on style). They come with 15mm bolt-ons and 3, 5 and 7mm slip-ons. Thinking the 15mm for the rear and slip on a 3 or 5mm in front depending on thread engagement.

I need a wider setup for traction, and going for a square setup.

Slick, -2 degrees up front seems like just a little bit over the ideal mark for track camber? What do you think?

Also, why did you choose 18" rather than 17"?

At this point it seems you guys are saying this will fit square:

17or18x9 +35 255/40/17or18.

Hi all,

I've gone through the many wheel threads on the forums but just want to make 100% sure.

I have 2 options (Planning to run 225/45/17 tyres on all 4 corners with stock suspension).

17x7.5 +48
17x8 +45

Am I safe with the above fitment, with no rubbing issues esp. at full lock? and which combo should I go with as its my daily driver and would like to retain as much of the stock dynamics as possible.

Just note, above options are because I really want RPF1. Thanks in advance!

im confused with this. 18x8.75 +35 in the front pokes out 9.5mm? I used the web tool and it said its tucked 7mm. why is it that the wheel pokes?

Coilovers have much smaller diameter springs, so you end up with more clearance on the inside than with spring/strut.

Both will be totally fine. As I posted above, I'm on 17x8 +48 and both of your choices will have more clearance inside than mine. Fender clearance is not even close to being an issue. I'm running the same size tire.

Personally, I'd go with the 8" width.

Question for u, as i dont have coils yet, the oem perch is still the same correct? W 18" rims at stock height the perch is right at the top lip of the rim, the spring itself is only a rubbing issue w the sidewall. (Im assuming with 17" the perch would line up inconveniently with the sidewall...)

Do you mean on my car specifically? I'm on stock suspension still. Any replacement strut should use the same perch type/position, but coilovers are completely different. The perch/collar will only be as wide as the spring, which is much narrower than stock.

When I get a chance, I want to get under the car and see how much room there really is. I can't fit a finger between the spring and the tire, I can just tell it's really close. I can feel the perch, but it's hard to tell where on the wheel/tire it lines up.

Yea, i should have take a pic when the car was up on the rack w just a bare rim for fitment of 9.5 +38. Ill get one if i can, but even w stretched 235 tires if i spin the wheel w my finger on the inner sidewall my finger cant clear the suspension
