After data logging my first track day since I got the app, it looks like I need an oil cooler now.

Yes, your car goes into fuel cut and uses its own momentum to keep the engine spinning basically.

Look at your fuel usage gauge next time. Let off (above ~1400 rpm) and it'll go right down to 0 L/100km, whereas if you shift to neutral, you're still burning fuel to keep the engine idling.

Exactly, it's one of the reasons why FI is advantageous over carbs as they would still use fuel on the over-run.

Ideally you'd only be in neutral when at a stop as yes, you can save yourself fuel by using the engine to slow you down. I know it's really the wrong kind of car, but if you wanted to get some great MPG out of the car, read the road ahead and try and use the engine braking as much as you can. All the time you're doing that, you're using no fuel.

If you want to prove it, I'm sure there's an injection time parameter you can monitor in Torque (I use ECUtek, and there is in that). Obviously it will go 0 in these circumstances.

The Perrin one is a fine looking piece of kit.

Is anyone familiar with a cheap 7" tablet with android? I like the app so much I was thinking of running a dedicated tablet showing the gauges on Torque.

I found these on ebay, I know they're cheap, just wondering if anyone has experience with something cheap:

The first one doesn't indicate anything about bluetooth capabilities, therefore you would need a wifi-obd reader, which tend to be quite a bit more expensive compared to the bluetooth ones. It also mentions that it's wifi READY, I'm under the impression you may need something else to use wifi on it.

For the 2nd link you provided, it says wifi, but the description has no information and nothing mentioned about bluetooth.

Most of the wifi-obd readers go for 30$-50$

In my opinion, buy yourself a Google Nexus 7 16gb for around 200$ or find a used one on eBay if you like.

The Nexus 7 is a quality tablet, it runs fast and the torque app works flawlessly on mine, I couldn't be happier.

At 200$, that is still an extremely competitive price for a decent 7" tablet.

Can anyone make something like this? Just a couple ideas, one is just a little tray with a lip coming from underneath the HVAC controls, the other is two brackets on each side, maybe with a rubber line to prevent movement? Out of plastic or fiberglass? I'd probably wrap it in carbon fiber anyways, and I don't want a permanent solution, so I'd probably stick the side brackets with 3M tape, or the tray under the HVAC controls might be able to just be tucked under?

I thought the PID setup for fuel remaining is "VERY accurate".

Does very accurate mean .5 gallons?

I noticed while logging a/f ratios the smallest value it will show is 12.1653614. Does anyone know if this is a limitation of the sensor or the included torque a/f measurement.

I have recorded lower values. But that tends to be the ECU configuration believe.
