Noob4Life answered your question.

My experience has been similar, improving the motor mounts on a front wheel drive had a HUGE effect on wheel hop.

I get this with damp roads, summer tires or winter tires doesn't matter. Watching the shifter rattle violently...is disconcerting.

It depends on the wheel hop, but yes, bushings will help.

We get some wheel hop in our car under high speed at-the-limit cornering, but not enough where it's become a priority item.

Tein offers a bushing set that solves the problem.

Obviously these cars were designed with rear slippage in mind, never intended for the rear to actually 'hook up'. I don't think it's possible to experience true wheel hop with the Primacy summer tires, unless you air down. Once OEM tires are replaced these traction issues surface. Bushings do help a great deal IMHO.

It's not something actively marketed here, since there's not a lot of interest in them... send me a PM.

Just give it more gas like a real man and it'll smooth-out past 6000rpm.
Seriously, wheel hop can lead to broken drivetrain parts, including rear differentials, and axles.
On hard launces, wide, sticky 245s would definitely induce wheel hop on our cars w/ soft OEM bushings intended for less grippy tires. Simply upgrading with poly bushings (Whiteline / SuperPro) is all that may be needed. I will be replacing the rear CA and diff bushings.
In some cases, weak shocks, or adjustables that are set too soft? can allow a hopping wheel to continue hopping since the motion is not properly damped. Shocks should not be ruled out as a factor. Good luck on you build.

Oh it for sure is possible I know I've done it several times. Just takes a damp road and an overly aggressive launch. I wonder if the rear differential brace that beatrush and cusco are selling would help?

I get the worst wheel hop around corners. Kinda freaks me out when it's a 100+ foot drop if I don't hook up around the corner. I used to drive that road all the time in my old cars and never had any issues. It's like I can't push this car as hard as I want to because it starts hopping around corners.

I can also contest to stock, in my case Bridgestone tires, having wheel hop. I agree with @Dipstik-sportech that slightly damp road with a hard launch will definitely cause it.

Gear shifter shacks like a motha-f.....

Had a strange occurance earlier today. Dumped the clutch from 3k and floored it with TRAC/VSC off (both orange lights illuminated on dash) and obviously spun the rear tires, but as the car started to move sideways (after moving forward several feet) wheel hop occurred; that's not odd. What's odd is that the slip light illuminated when the wheel hop occurred. Theories? Ideas?

Tires are Michelin Pilot Super Sports in 225/45/17 and this occurred in the dry, albeit at a temperature bordering on "cold" when it comes to summer compounds.
