Correct me if I'm wrong, but putting a HID bulb in the DRL/high beam slot would be blinding to oncoming traffic as there is no projector housing there.
Even putting an HID bulb into the stock projectors is a bad idea unless you bend the light cut off metal piece down or get proper projector housings, such as the ones from The Retrofit Source. |

80% of the time, you use your high beams to flash for a quick second or use them for a couple seconds on the backroads, rarely do you use your high beams for a long period of time. I do not suggest installing HID kits into the high beam for a couple reasons
-Quick flash of the high beams will cause the bulbs/ballast to fail prematurely -HID bulbs take about 15-20 seconds to warm up and fully settle in color temperature, so they wouldn't be bright for flashing anyways -You'd have to run a relay/resistor harness to allow the HID's to function properly during DRL mode I personally would get a pair of authentic PIAA or Raybrig 9005 bulbs, they work for DRL mode and high beam mode, function like OEM, and are a brighter white than OEM. |

HID_Powerhouse's DRL's are G's 7.5 watt 9005's I have them on my car and they are nice -- I don't care about high beams since i rarely use them. DRL's they are great.
I'm looking for LED low beams now since I really don't care about messing with HIDs anymore. |

Is there no way to hardwire LED DRLs to function as high-beams ever?

But I guess what I am asking is, with LED DRLs can you not at least activate them to shine (with low-beams) when the high's are turned on? Surely something is better than nothing, no?

LED's do not project light nearly as well as halogen and HID bulbs.
