I swear I'm not making it up, but when making my post my thoughts were like: "man, I wish I lived closer so I could go to the shop".

The wheels were an opportunity I decided to take advantage of. A little wider than stock and they already had some tires mounted on them for 500 local. Looks better IMO than stock wheels. Might change those out later.
The tires were for the added power, but also in general I felt that it needed more grip. I'm sure many of the guys not running FI can agree there. Since I've been out of it for so long, I had this vague memory that S04 Pole Positions weren't that bad. Took a shot in the dark there. Might explore other tires in the future (especially for road course events). Wish everyone had the opportunity to stop by and chat about cars! |

Route 66? It probably won't be this year for me but I'm planning on making some road trips to the rockies and through down to Arizona. It would be cool to meet up with some forum members along the way.

Wow...I honestly thought it would put down a much better 1/4 time. Why are you getting so much wheel hop? I'm running 255 rears and 1.5" drop and a stiffer rear sway bar but I either hook or spin...no hop at all.
When people talk GTRs and cars in the 10 sec range they refer to it as "street bike territory" but right now it seems the Vortech kit puts our cars closer to BMX territory. Bummer. All kidding aside, I appreciate your honesty and neutrality in your posts. I'm sure you will get the HP up and the wheel hop solved too which should yield much better times. I was thinking a properly built BRZ with a tuned Vortech kit should be in the 12s, not 14s. Maybe wishful thinking but not too far fetched. Keep us all posted..great work!!
