One of the wires in picture under the hood is indeed the wire for the LH side fog light. The red/white. Probed and confirmed with on and off of the fog lights.
After looking at how well the harness is wrapped up, tight spaces and the probable need to remove the front bumper to properly tap into these wires near the fog light location I've pretty much decided to splice into them at the Body ECU and run new wires out to the lights. I'll take some pictures as I go and post up later. In the process I'll be removing the Nigel harness and removing the ground for that harness I currently have attached at the white wire from the stalk under the steering column. |

I'd be done by now if I hadn't decided to cut through a wire that shouldn't have been cut and damn near impossible to splice back together while removing the Nigel harness.
Anyway it works 100%. I removed the fog light connectors from the nigel harness. Ran the ground for the LH light here. ![]() Spliced into the Red/White wire at the BCM connector here and ran that to the other side of the fog light connector. Red/White wire is for the LH Fog. White/Red for RH Fog. ![]() Turn on the fog lights at the stalk you get this. ![]() They also work as they should. Leave the fog light switch on and they turn off when you turn off the headlights and back on when when you turn the headlights back on. Bright they turn off. Parking lights they turn off. Only work with the low beams. |

Is there any way that you could make a separate, and clear DIY on how to do this? I have only done a little bit of wiring on my MR2 out of necessity. I am by no means a capable of understanding half of what you have said in this thread. Thanks for your help.

I really didn't take enough pictures to make a really good DIY but I'll try and throw one together over the next couple days.
Just finished it up. It works great. |

I like how your method keeps the molesting to the factory harness to a minimum. Thanks for all the efforts you and everyone else put into making this thread!!

^ Totally agree. I'd still like to find out where the red-white, white-red wires terminate in the engine bay. can't thank FRSFirestorm enough!:happy0180:

Ok, just as @FRSFirestorm said, the red/white wire terminates at the connector for the passenger side headlight.
![]() Whats odd is on the other side of the connector (the harness for the headlight bulbs), a green wire comes out of that pin. I wasn't able to get a picture, but I'll be taking the bumper off later this week to take a better look. I didn't have the time to take a look at the driver side connector, but I'll look again tomorrow.
