So I can essentially do a tune myself is what your saying...
If I re-flash it to stock why would that raise more questions? They will be able to see that it was reset? I have heard you can reset the ECU by doing something with the negative side of the battery, not sure exactly what or how though... Does Perrin have more info about their big intake? |

I still think if you compared the end results of a full CAI with tune at the moment to the stock box with filter and a tune there will be minimal difference. It's your call as to whether 1/2hp is worth an extra $200+.

Ok so sticking with just the stock intake (maybe get nice drop-in filter) + tune could have a decent performance/power increase?
With the feedback I am getting it seems like more worth my while to get some type of ECU tune software because it will have a greater overall positive effect to the car in relation to increasing performance. Perhaps I am putting it too simply though. BETTER YET, what would you suggest for me to start my build?

If you have other stuff like headers or intake, it might throw CEL as the tune tells the ecu not to check for some stuff.

What would recommend my first upgrades be? ECUtek or Visconti tune + drop in filter, that is it?
http://www.fa20club.com/home.php?cat=251 On fa20club's site they have different horsepower gain ranges, so which would apply to someone who isn't looking for a turbo/supercharger but still wants to upgrade other parts to still make some gains? |

ECUtek is the program/software, and Visconti is a tuner that uses it. There are other tuners using ECUtek.
