Well, similarly, Perrins oil hoses come with one clamp, I add a 2nd for my peace of mind @ the track, its your car, if your modding it, I think you should have an eye on all thats being done

You really have an issue with zip ties? I think they work great for clamping hoses, and you will be hard pressed to find a shop that doesn't use them.

It is the shops that use NO CLAMPS on hosing that have the real problem. I have seen people lose motors because shops us no hose clamping at all, lets say on wastegate lines for instance.

Good luck and subscribed!
They're more than likely to say that it was the tune and not their mistake.

Considering this is the first blown motor thread I've seen from FI.... and it doesn't even appear to be the motor, or FI kit's fault... I'd say he's really stretching to try and say the FA20 sucks LOL.

I doubt he took his fa20 apart and laid it out on a bench cause he doesnt like the motor. I gather he was playing and popped it too, but is taking it to the next level with his rebuild. I've exchanged PMs with him, and he is on point, doesnt seem to want to deal with the web BS and so doesnt really share his build...seems like anice guy otherwise

As of right now blown head gasket is my guess, since the shop that did the short block build stands behind it, letting them check it out....will keep everyone posted.....you guys talking to me about not liking the FA20,...totally not true.

My race car is built with zip ties and duct tape. I have zero issues with zipties on stuff like that.

I was gonna say... Over boost alone can bend rods etc assuming there is no detonation as a result of the over boost... add a little bit of detonation to the mix (a gt 30 can easily make enough boost to go well beyond the limits of 93 on 12.5:1 motor) and you have a nice grenade sitting between the fenders.

I dont like them under the hood on hoses that can become boost pressurized

So long as you use them in the right place... vacuum lines on barbed fittings.. you should never have an issue at reasonable boost... if in doubt give em the old pull test.
