I would love for you to run outside and take a look/pictures of the wastegate lines and see what color spring is inside the wastegate. If you do this now and document it, than the installer can't claim everything was right.

I have never seen a fuel pump fail and put a hole in a motor, although anything is possible.

This sucks. Sorry to hear it. I look forward to your built block and low compression pistons so you can turn up the boost!

Random question: did your FX400 make a lot of vibration/rattling noise at low RPMs and decel?

This question is unrelated to the engine failure, I'm just curious. Sorry to hear about the issues you are having

Right... But the ecu was not made to read boost from a turbo, so i dont see why there would be a PID for boost.. Again though i know very little about the ecu/obd/app coordination

No, this is a faulty install. Sounds like they screwed up the vacuum lines if the BOV is opening at idle (under vacuum). If that's the case, they most likely screwed up the vacuum line for the wastegate. Perhaps they used the same vacuum source for both?

Gem is right, this is a risk with TC's. They are little more sensitive to misinstallation. The reward is that you can get oodles more power out of them with less boost, when they are installed correctly.

Sucks man, I hope the dealer acknowledges its screw up and accommodates you.
Dont be mistaken..30 psi on the basemap would put a hole in the block.

8psi boost limiter would have saved this motor.

Sorry to hear, i've been working at dealerships for almost 10 years and have only had a couple tech's i would consider putting a turbo kit on my car. We probably would install a kit if somebody asked but i guarantee there wouldn't be a warranty unless it was a factory part. Dealership labor rates are incredibly high compared to independent shops too so i'm surprised it was even cost feasible to have them install it.

The stock BRZ/FRS computer is the same out of the GT-R with all the same data points that are associated with a twin turbo car...

wouldn't mind a tuner confirming this.

As long as the MAP sensor being used is calibrated correctly, then yes. It will function just fine.

sorry didn't read the whole thread and don't know much about aftermarket forced induction systems... but my question is, are zipties safe to use to hold any hosing in an engine bay? That would've been sketchy install tip off #1 to me personally.

Absolutely, subaru and I agree, you can see the oe stuff in background
if it was a dealership install surely they had these lying around
these photos could be helpful if you call 800-LAWYER, dealerships have insurance policies, I couldnt PAY for work at a shop where they really could have sourced a hose clamp at under $1 each...just saying, best practices...

Lol, to his credit, Crawford provides zip ties for their AOS. Kinda cheap if you as me.
