yea or get cp rod and pistons. Same as that and lot less. About a lil over 2 grand. then a e85 kit
lol All depends on where you want to go with your car. I wont change the internals yet on my car because engine block is good. waiting on heads like valves and springs with cams and so on and so fourth and as well as a crankshaft, then...........along with the bottom end we are going to see the true potential of this engine. high horsepower and reliability. Gotta love Toyota.(n a lil subaru)

make sure any parts that are re used get inspected and fully cleaned, especially anything that has an oil or coolant passage. Last thing you want is debree from this one causing oil starvation or lack of coolant flow on the next one

If you blew a hole in your motor, that probably wasn't overboost, but a problem with the fuel/air/ignition mix. If you shot ridiculous amounts of boost, it would lift the head or blow the head gasket before tearing a chunk out of the motor itself.
No, this is a faulty install. Sounds like they screwed up the vacuum lines if the BOV is opening at idle (under vacuum). If that's the case, they most likely screwed up the vacuum line for the wastegate. Perhaps they used the same vacuum source for both? Gem is right, this is a risk with TC's. They are little more sensitive to misinstallation. The reward is that you can get oodles more power out of them with less boost, when they are installed correctly. Sucks man, I hope the dealer acknowledges its screw up and accommodates you. |

x 1000000. At least have a bluetooth OBD and Torque on your smart phone. That's a better Boost/AFR gauge than nothing. That would have been the first thing installed if I couldn't have a true wideband in before getting it home.

My bov is open at idle which is perfectly normal since the engine is in vacuum while idling, as soon as it starts to boost it will keep it shut with the pressure and yhen let off ghe thtottle back in vacuum amd open again

yeah, it is very common for softly sprung BOV's to open under manifold vacuum. that is not the part they screwed up.
