looking for some recommendations on tires and size

Gramlights 57DR 18x8.5 5x100 +38 are the wheels I'm trying to see what everyone is using as far as tire size and brand. I was thinking about some BS potenza 245/35R18. Any other recommendations?

Less performance???
The stock tires are Performance tires?

Was kind of interested because on Tuesday at one of our car meets I noticed different tire setups on the same size wheel and couldn't find the owners of the cars.

As far as brand and model goes, you're going to get a whole slew of recommendations. Different people need different things out of their tires. What are your main concerns when looking for new tires? Price? Performance? Longevity? Seasonal Capabilities? Etc. There's a lot to consider. Maybe answer a few of the questions above and people can chime in the best they can.

Performance tires maybe compared to touring tiresn (and the fact that they aren't all season and have no snow/ice capabilites) , but in the realm of actual performance tires, they are a joke.

I believe his point was that you could go to a touring type tire that isn't performance oriented.

Good point. I am looking for performance tires that stick well as I like to do a lot of canyon driving. Haven't tracked it but have been wanting to. I work every Saturday so its hard to get out their. Would like them to last for a while but that just depends on my driving.

I received my new summer wheel / tire package from Tire Rack yesterday… now all I need is summer so that I can put them on.

OZ Alleggerita HLT 17x7.5 wheels with Michelin Pilot Super Sport 215/45/17 tires… the combo comes in at 36.2 lbs… lost about 4.5 lbs from stock.

The wheels are the Anthracite finish and I think they’re going to look great against the Whiteout.

Continental DW or goodyear eagle f1 asymetric 2 are good performance tires that are still really nice on the street.

There is only one option: 245/35/18 Michelin Pilot Super Sport. I am still loving mine.

Best Bet for a hot street tire is Hankook Rs-3's

They just work, much cheaper than most of the other recommendations, and head and shoulders above that continental DW crap...those tires are horrible, I get more traction from a set of rs-3's in 255 than the 285's i had to put on for the FRshootout hosted by continental....If you are actually going to be driving hard and not just hard parking steer clear of the DW's

most of the other brands suggested carry a much heavier price tag, but there is a very good reason that the RS-3's have a waiting list in several sizes, they work...better than anything you can compare in price or treadwear.
