i was going to wait for a 2014 but 2014 will be minor update... real reason i got the 2013 is that its a first generation to make a come back and sure will be a classic... classic will always be the best

if your going to wait for a 2014 why not just wait for the 2015 or maybe 2016 or how about dont get the car at all enjoy life now tomorrow is not promised :happy0180:

This late in the model year it seems silly not to wait the additional month or two to see what updates or upgrades are made for 2014. Despite all the talk about "no upgrades" on this forum nobody here really has a clue as to whether (or what) upgrades are coming. The chief 86 engineer did indicate at rollout that Toyota would be doing annual upgrades a la GTR to keep the product fresh.

If nothing tickles your fancy about the 14s there should still be 13s around to pick up.

Get it. I just pulled the trigger on a '13 firestorm. Couldn't be any happier.
By the time '14 comes out and no major changes are done on it, they'll drop the prices on the '13 and majority of people are gonna get sold into getting a '13 anyway

models wont be any different until the open frs gets released or STi comes out of Japan. Just get one but dont settle on anything, get exactly what you want. BRZ well worth the wait.

Waiting is overrated

Prevailing wisdom would have it that if you wait until the next model year you will get a car with all of the problems of the previous model year fixed. This sounds great in principle but in practice it does not hold up. Witness the IMS bearing problems of the Porsche m96/m97 engines. Porsche made three changes over two model cycles in an eight year periond and still did not have a reliable fix for the problem. Another example would by the ongoing HPFP problems with BMWs.

My take on this is the longer you wait the higher the list price gets. You may able to engineer a great deal on a '14 when they arrive but, in general, this years model is always going to be cheaper than next years unless the car is a total failure on the market, like the Acura RL for example. The twins do not fall into this category. They are just going to get more expensive with time.

I believe that was finally fixed. My mother lemoned her 135i convertible for it. I went with a 550i for it. Then soon after, it was fixed. Still, I saw so many of those 35i BMWs go through injectors, pumps, and turbos. Scary!
