Wait for a BRZ or get an FRS now?
I , like many others, have placed an order for a BRZ with wait times up to next May/June 2013.
Between the two, I chose the BRZ over the FRS. For me, the main issues are the front, the side-fender 86 logo, and the Scion badges that keep me from being content with an FRS. However the more the uncertain the wait times, the less these things matter lol. So did anyone cave in and buy an FRS instead? Just want to know what they "compromised" in terms of getting an FRS |

So basically you do not like anything that makes the FRS an FRS instead of a BRZ. LOL wait and get the car you want.

Hey I do like the FRS.
If my car (242k miles) happens to break down, in the waiting time for the BRZ, I'm pretty set on getting a Whiteout FRS. So i'm only waiting as long as my Civic lets me lol |

For me, there were BRZ's available and I was willing to wait to get an FRS. It is just personal preference. No I am not a scion fan, but I still prefer the car to the BRZ. Just get what you want. Threads like this are kind of funny.

I faced the same dilemma. I first approached the Subaru dealer. The reality was they couldn't tell me when I'd get one. I then looked at the FR-S. I liked the exterior styling better on the FR-S but the HID and Interior styling on the BRZ better. I liked the price of the FR-S better and was told I could get one in 2 weeks. The choice for me was easy, FRS. I'm still smiling.

Everyone has different taste but to me the FRS has a newer, fresher front bumper design look and it look better in its own right than the few year old LFA ! With the toyota/GT86 rear badges on my pearl white, car look so stunning right now. Hey this is my opinion

Ask yourself seriously which car do you like more, regardless of badging. Badging can be changed. Mine is totally rebadged to Toyota with exception of the floor mats. I chose an FRS/86 because I totally loved the front end more than the BRZ's and I wasn't going to pay a mark-up. I liked the BRZ for the HIDs and GPS, but in the end the 86 won me over and that's what I took home.
Good luck with your decision man, and I hope you get the car you REALLY want. :happy0180: |

get the brz if you can wait, because its the car you wanted first, you might need to start searching for it, some other dealer might have the car

I'm not in a rush to buy, so I'm not pre-ordering a FR-S or BRZ.. I'm just going to wait and get the first available one at a local dealership, even if it's not for several more months. The differences to me aren't enough to sway me either way. I don't mind paying a little more for the BRZ's "luxury" amenities.. but at the same time, I also don't mind paying LESS for the FR-S without those amenities.

How badly do you need another car. If you have to wait until 2013 you should hold of until the next model.
I'm guessing you don't want the car because you think people are going to look down on you for owning a "Scion." Who cares what other people think? Personally, I want the BRZ for the extra creature comforts and because I care what people think if I bought a Scion ![]() Quote:

I'll definitely give them a call when I get off work though, just to confirm..I also only want Ultramarine or Raven.. If I'm going to wait, I might as well get the exact color I want. But I haven't test drove one yet, so I definitely want to go check it out. Thanks for the heads up though! |

It won't be online. Call them. Ask for Robert Miller. He'll hook you up. He messaged about 2 hours ago and it's still available.
