vortech supercharger & clutch & cooling?
alright so i'm hearing that you need to worry about coolant temps, oil temps, and need a 6 puck clutch to have the vortech because the stock will run out in a month. true? input on all of this please.

The only thing I can say is a 6 puck is overkill, there are daily driver friendly alternatives that are way better than a 6 puck clutch.

This is going to depend alot on how you drive the car, there a quite a few people on here with the vortech kit some with higher psi versions without any of these problems.
If your going to do heavy/hard track work you might need a oil cooler or at least get one to be safe. Clutch is going to depend on how you drive it, the vortech kits dont have alot of torque so you should not have any problems for a long time. You could get one at the same time as a lightweight flywheel to be safe, though there are alot of diff types and some might be more friendly for DD |

the clutch deal i can understand about the driving deal. i don't drive like a bat out of hell but do give it some love at times but that's just a simple pull from a rolling in like third. i'm not going to be tracking the car btw. just daily with some spirited driving when i feel like opening it up some. what do you guys think? |

I'd recommend an oil cooler, but for sure it will run fine on the stock coolant system and clutch.
If the clutch dies, replace it with a stage 1 or stage 2 clutch and you'll be fine! |

I'm not in a hurry to replace mine, and it drives fine 90% but when I am pushing it past 9/10, you do smell a lil clutch if I am not gentle on the shifts, but I'm modded. Burn a clutch in a month? really? Just a lil smell. No, not the end of the day, but I dont know that its a pre-requisite, nor is an oil cooler, but nice to have if you plan to run it hard and want to enjoy lower oil temps. I will keep you all posted on my clutch. I have no need to replace my radiator, you can bolt the SC on stock and go, no ill happens. |

Yes, with the S/C a lot more stress is put on the engine with a lot more load.

6 puck disc is fine with the RIGHT COVER. E.g. not one that comes in a kit. Try the OEM cover.
