I hear the 2014 models will have a V8 with 650HP and no torque dip.

You can find out about the back-up camera thing here:

http://money.cnn.com/2010/12/03/auto...htsa/index.htm

Sounds like a B.S. reason to me. How difficult is it to be a little attentive to what you're doing? Even so, if it gets passed it'll be "phased in"... starting at 10% of cars and increasing incrementally.

a smart plan. doubt the 2014 is gonna be a game changer. have not heard anything noteworthy. everything is just rumors and conjectures. once the 2014 model is out, decide then. otherwise get the 2013 model for cheaper. i love mine!

Falling way off topic: My favorite way to get cheese is look up the dairy science colleges, most have their own cheese and is reasonable cost for a large quantity. Washington State U. has an online order system for their cheese and if you let the Cheddar age a couple of years (comes in a metal tin), it is damn good.

I want to say thank you for the awesome retort, instead of escalating, you responded with good humor. You sir, are a worthy poster.

Indeed, at my specialty food stores I am paying 8-12$ for a small block of decent aged cheddar, its ludicrous. I think we should start some sort of cheese co-op. Quality cheese at fair prices for the masses!

There's a whole bunch of situations this can be useful. The only blind spot in the FRS are the rear pillars. Besides that, there's all kind of things you wouldn't be able to see over your trunk, from a child walking behind your car, animals, etc.

I test drove a Ram with one, and I didn't really like it, but my brother has one in his FJ Cruiser, and it does have its uses. Especially gauging when you're backing into a space.

If you're sure this is the car for you, and you're financially ready to purchase one, why delay? There's always a reason to put it off. "Oh, I'll wait until the second model year." "Oh, I hear a turbo's coming, I'll wait for that."

Meanwhile you're driving a Yaris (or whatever) and not enjoying the FR-S.

I bought my car out of the first production batch of cars to hit the US, a car built in the first month of production - March 2012. I got a second choice color (wanted red). I've had the CEL issue and condensation in the tail lights. And you know what? If I could do it over, I'd still be driving this car.

OK last thread hijack: http://cougarcheese.wsu.edu/ 30oz for $20

On topic now, I also own a first 1000 FR-S and I have had several of the initial issues, although not the tail light issue or the CEL but I did have the idle drop and window issues and my car had no frame plugs installed or in the glovebox. My crickets keep me company at stoplights and I wipe the very light oil accumulation on the engine block plate about once a month. I would not trade my car for anything. I will own this thing until the wheels fall off.

Besides, my impression is that people who bought their cars after summer 2012 generally aren't experiencing the typical problems we saw when the cars first came out (chirping, trunk won't open, etc). Of course it's gonna seem bad when you come to this forum and read the issues section, but in reality I believe that only something like 5% of owners were experiencing issues, iirc.
Thanks, that was my impression (just from reading forum posts, etc) - I wasn't too sure about the actual injector change-over. The sales rep offered up the answer i was looking for so quickly when i asked, I thought I better check that he wasn't just 'selling'.

Personally, I never experienced any issues with my first FR-S, other than fog in the tail lights... there was never any chirping or other supposedly 'chronic' issues.

Is anyone with a later purchase willing to confirm their injector type?
