I'm still trying to wake up, I really hope that made sense. But basically, colateral damage isn't fun to sift through to figure out the ultimate cause of the damage. Sent from my Nexus 4

Wear won't be seen when the engine blows...only engine components destroying everywhere else will be seen. It would be impossible to ascertain what wear was occurring where and whether it was before or after catastrophic failure. One could only provide a "best" guess; whereas cracking the block before hand could show you all that other wear you're talking about. Loose chunks of liner, piston, bearing, and valves doesn't really help me ascertain anything. |

I'm interested to see how the piston rings, rods, and other components hold up. Along with the head gaskets and valve trains. It's a little more of a pain upgrading those in a boxer layout versus an inline. I'm bullish that the component quality is high enough to handle boost over time but will be watching. I'm between the FMB Stage 1 premium and the Innovate kit. I need DD reliability but more power is a must!

What kind of wear you thing you are going to see? bearing wear? piston ring wear? you don't have to take the engine apart to figure that one out. It shouldn't be catastrophic either |

That's not a wouldn't. Go look at a non-boosted engine failure we recently had on the forums; hole in the piston, valve contact, etc.. No one knows, especially not you, what kind of failure will occur when it does finally occur. Maybe it'll just spin a bearing, maybe it'll spit a piston out of the block. We can take this elsewhere Juan; this is FBM's thread.

3D printing isn't as primitive as before, you can actually print metal models of your scans now-a-days.... jeeze... [ame="https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=snOErpOP5Xk"]3D Printer - High Resolution - Homemade - DIY - YouTube[/ame] simple science really... Fingers crossed for the manifold! Ive heard plastic manifolds blowing at 25+ psi on most other cars.... who knows though, our intake manifolds are pretty thick and have plenty of regitity
