Compared with front system, there is only one disc instated of two discs in the rear system.
Any disadvantage for this?
What’s major different between using Front/Rear AP Racing Formula Brake Systems and only
Front AP racing formula brake system + stock rear brake?
Thanks.

ps. Will this BBK more easily squeal or caused the disc deformed (erosion) easier compared to the stock one?

I really interested in this stuff.
Is there any possible to have group buy? I just want to save some money and it might also
easy for you to control the quantity of the order.
Thanks.

I have some bad news gents...AP Racing told me we're still 3-4 weeks out on delivery of the first systems. They are a bit overwhelmed with orders these days since race season is now in full swing around the world. They did apologize, and assure us it will be worth the wait. I did let them know that there are existing orders in place, and that our customers are waiting. They said they'd do everything possible to get them to us as quickly as they can. Again, sorry for the delays and inconvenience. I will update as soon as I know more.

You should contact Comp Friction in Australia. They are Australia's designated distributor in Australia, and have the ability to order these parts directly from AP Racing. They will also be holding inventory of our Essex Competition Brake Systems which feature AP Racing components. We're actually shipping some off to them along with our harness bars in the next couple of days. Also, if you buy one of these AP Racing Formula Kits through Comp Friction, I may be able to get one into one of our shipments to them (since it sounds like we ate up all of AP's initial inventory).

We don't have any plans to do a group buy. The products are available to order at any time, and we occasionally run introductory specials, etc. on some of the parts we carry. In this instance, this is the launch of a completely new product by AP Racing. They are casting a new rear disc, the calipers have some new features, etc. As such, the initial production run is taking a while longer than a regular production run will once the program is up and running and everything is sorted. This is the norm with most manufacturers of just about anything...new products always provide challenges.

We placed an order for a substantial quantity of these kits in both black and red, and after our initial shipment arrives we plan to always have them on the shelf moving forward.:happy0180:

On the rear Formula four piston kit, the disc is a solid one-piece disc. In terms of heat, it's not any issue. The rear on this car should never have any heat-related problems. The downside to a one vs. two-piece rear would be weight. The advantage is that the price is considerably lower for a one-piece vs. two.

In terms of pure performance, a front-only system will give you a greater bang-for-the-buck. It just won't look nearly as good as a front/rear system.

There is no reason to believe these systems will make any more noises than the OEM system if street pads are used. Pad choice, or not having the pads bed-in properly, is the reason for brake squeal 99% of the time.

Disc wear should be lower on an oversized disc with all else held equal. In other words, the large discs in a big brake kit handle heat a lot better, and should last longer when subjected to the same conditions as a stock disc. They'll be a lot less prone to cracking. They will still wear thin over time though. Any time you have metal scraping metal (brake pad on disc), both surfaces will gradually erode. Putting a specific number on that is next to impossible as there are a huge range of variables involved... type of road, track, tires, power, weight, driving style, environment, heat introduced, etc. In other words, if you were going to get 20,000 miles out of your stock brakes, there are no guarantees that you'll get 30,000 miles out of a BBK. The primary benefit of any good big brake kit is a much greater thermal capacity, and they won't fade or give any problems when you wail on them in the canyons or at the track.

Guys...we just snapped some pics of each of the rear kits FYI.

And here are a couple of pics of the big dog six piston front kit to refresh your memory. The smaller four piston will look very similar...except...well...smaller!

Just out of curiosity, how much would replacement front discs run? I think this would be good information for anyone who is considering this setup. :happy0180:
