I know I got off topic with the pictures.

But its funny how we get the shaft with our sales broechure. I know when I bought my car it was like 1 page lol.

Those are just a few things that are in the Aussie sales bro. I left a lot out because its off topic but I got it of a Toyota dealership that is in Sydney. And there climate control is an upgrade. I keep repeating myself maybe in excitment because orginally I thought this was impossible.

Now that there is a possibility this with all black interior parts I am speechless....

Its just crazy how us in the US get the shaft. Just browsing over some of the upgrades that are avail. in other countries is crazy...makes you wonder what Toyota was thinking.....offer the FRS base model for folks who just want base model bare bones but at least offer these options as upgrades or as limited model just like subie did. I know I am beating a dead horse and this has been discussed before and I am off topic...just mind boggling...

From now on I am stick to the topic of climate control ! sorry guys just venting

Speaking of venting, you can do that a bit tomorrow when you call a US based Toyota/Scion dealer!

Anyway, Hope you get some good info tomorrow, I will post back here after I take a look at my HVAC system more tomorrow.

Hope these help. Don't mind the HVAC in the diagrams, it's a generic image for the BRZ. As you can see they are the same here from what I can tell.

For the BRZ with dual:

For the FRS:

Sorry for the crappy pics. Was in a rush when I took them. I'll try to scan them in later when I get home.

Based on our findings, Maybe one would need to do is...

Get the electronic vent actuators.
Get the connectors and wires that fit into the back of the Digital Climate control panel.

Then ingegrate the 2 new connectors and harness' into the main body harness so the main body edu/integ unit assy plays nice with the new Digital controls.
It is going to be more expensive than selling FRS and buying BRZ. Thus it does not make any sense.

If its a matter of buying a panel and some wiriring. The panel is 300-400 dollars. depending on the cost of the parts I cant see it being more expensive then buying a new car ? I paid 24, 500 for my FRS if I spend under a thousand to do this its cheaper than buying a brand new brz one would think

even if its not cost effective at least we know it can be done. I know there are poeple who have spent 800 for the airbag steering wheel, I doubt that they would have any issues for spend 800 dollars to have this done.

I wouldn't worry about it. Haters will be haters. I had the same logic as you. Lets keep moving forward with this project!

What else do we need to look into? I have access to Toyota's part system and can take stuff to my parts guy at Subaru to compare.

Scans would be great. I can cross reference the Blower assembly parts on my BRZ compared to the diagrams.

Not a problem. When I get home from work I'll scan them and repost.

Z3D, would you be able to get the part numbers off any of the ECU's you see? I know the one I'm looking for is the one located under the steering wheel just above the hood release. That should be the main body ECU if I'm not mistaken. I know there is a difference in the BRZ limited and the FRS from my fog install, but I want to see if that is what actually controls all the gadgets on the inside.

You are correct, The Body ECU is located on the Drivers side right above the hood latch. It is right next to the JTEKT electronic steering module. I took a picture of the main body ECU showing how the "Integ unit assy" (BLACK BOX) separates from the main body ECU (WHITE/GRAY BOX).

I beleive the Integ unit assy is different on the FRS/BRZ (Prem)/BRZ (limit). I think the Integ unit assy is what controls the features like digital versus manual climate control.

V V FOR CROSS REFERENCE : FROM BRZ LIMITED V V

Integ Unit Assy - DENSO JAPAN 882810A300 232800 - 0040

BOLD NUMBER BEING DENSO PART NUMBER

Main BODY ECU - TOYOTA 82201CA000 3131-0W 2D11 - 1109

Did a little searching and can't find either one of those parts on Toyota or Subaru part sites :-(.
