I am looking at purchasing 17x8 and I can either get 36mm or 49mm, which would be a better choice on a brz lowered 1"? I would like all wheels to be the same for simplicity.

Thanks

225/35 is too short for this car, 225/40 would work but 245/35 would be better.

Nice thread. A lot of the same questions are asked over and over in this thread. Find some offset calculators online if you need help. That's all it really takes. There are some minor things to take into consideration when lowering your vehicle with wheels like suspension clearance (which bolt-on spacers help remedy)

IMO: Anything smaller than a 9 width wheel should be considered unethical.

Stock suspension
16x8 +25 offset square set up running 225/50 rs3
How aggressive would this be?
I'm looking for a track wheel and I like the enkei compe
Any other options in 16x8 35-40 offset?

It's an 8 width wheel and it's 16 inches, it will not be aggressive at all.. and you're running a wide tire so there's absolutely not going to be stretch with a 50 sidewall. It'll look like balloons.

my wheels are 18X8.5 et35 (17.5lbs) / 18X9.5 et42 (18.25lbs) i was planning on getting Front 225/40/18 - Rear 255/35/18 tires. Is there any other tire combos I can get on this wheel specs?(if tire brand I'm getting does not have the want specs)

18x8.75 all the way around, in 225/40/18. Lowered on Eibach Pro Kit ( about .5"-1.0")

I don't know if I agree with unethical. It is in most cases unnecessary weight unless mounting a 265 width tire or wider.

However I do agree with people doing what they want with their own car.

I have a lot of 5x100 8" wheels. So if I buy another set it would be 8.5" - 9" square or 8.5"/9.5" staggered.

7" or 8" would work for most users. 215-255mm max is quite a bit of tire.

I've been using and recommending this tire size calculator for years. Have a look, might help with some fitment and clearance questions. Esp if you have factory wheels/tires on your car, you can plug your new sizes in and get the differences then go out to the car and actually see where the new combo would likely end up.

I'd say better than 95% (statistic I just made up but seems legit) of car owners that want to change wheels have NO concept of geometry, scrub radius or how any of it affects handling.

What works best is usually not what every likes to look at. But hey, I agree its a free country. let em do what they want. :happy0180:

Hey guys
I'm looking to get CCW but looking for semi aggressive
Planing on doing

18x9.5 3inch lip Front
18x10. 3inch lip rear

Questions!!!

What offset should I go with in the front and rear?
What size tire should I go with (don't wanna rub)?

Btw I'm lowered on BC coils

Thanks
