I always drive "close to the wind".

Just noticeable!

I would second this opinion. My first (400+mile) drive felt very blown about, and it was stormy. I haven't felt it as much as the first long highway drive through mountain passes in fall.

The FR-S behaves differently than other cars I have driven in the wind. The car is very responsive to inputs because of the way it is sprung and because it is lightweight. So you do feel the wind - however the car has such a low center or gravity and wide stance that the effect is minimal.

The result is that you feel the wind, and you expect the car to slew, but nothing happens. This is the opposite of the effect you would feel in a big sedan, where the car absorbs and mutes the feeling of the wind, but then tends to slew in response.

The worst car I ever drove in the wind was my wife's old toyota Echo sedan.
The FR-S is a breeze to drive in comparison.

with the stock primacy tires i never noticed any issues while driving in the wind. with my winters, however i went down to 205/50R17's and occasionally, if the gust is strong enough, i'll feel it in my car. nothing too terrible, but enough to have to slightly adjust accordingly.

you still feel some pull but like everyone said, its nothing worth noticing. i also own a motorcycle and man... when you get hit by a cross wind you better start leaning against it

This car sits much lower to the ground and is significantly more aerodynamic than most other cars. You'll notice the wind much less in it.

Tires have a lot to do with it. If you have crappy tires(with regard to grip) you'll notice the wind more. But like others have said, this car is pretty slick, and is a lot better then my previous car, but that was a hatchback. So not a great comparison.

The more Sheldonian explanation would be that the unintended shift in a vehicle's track in wind is more likely caused by deformation of the tire than by loss of adhesion. Loss of adhesion while going in a generally straight direction is unlikely to occur except under very strong winds or on especially slick surfaces such as ice or snow. The second, and more likely scenario is that the pressure of the wind against one side of the car causes the tires to deform which reduces their ability to track straight. In addition, the load may alter the geometry of the suspension enough to cause a minor steering effect. Since low-profile tires are more resistant to deformation, this helps the FR-S resist movement due to wind loading on the side - though good aerodynamics probably help even more.
