No, they(you) won't. You get it in writing that you came in well within the warranty period for the fix and it should become retroactive when they accept your claim after the warranty has expired.

Their computer should have a full description of your complaint waiting for you even years later.

My dealer takes very good care of me, both of my taillights have condensation now but there is no point in getting them replaced yet, since there is no true fix (atleast for scion)

Ill have them replaced when there is a true fix

What do you mean no true fix? Have you read the TSB?

I agree. At first they said it was an issue resolved on the production line (overtightening the mounting points on the light), but still newer production ranges kept developing the issue. People have gone through numerous replacement lights at the dealer and the issue STILL persists. The seal (meaning an issue with the gasket) between the body and light is most likely the culprit as others have been saying for months.

I have not read thru it, did they make any significant changes? Because im on my second set of lights with condensation, and i dont feel like i need to do my own diy to fix it, even though i could.

The tail lights are garbage bin parts for this car. I am not even going to bother having them replaced with new ones that leak again. The headache of having to drop it at the dealer and pick it up isnt worth the waste of 2 hours of my life or the annoyance.

^ Pretty much my sentiments about this and the crickets, I'll live with them until they aren't livable and by then they'll either have parts that work or aftermarket will have a solution.

I wasn't signing up for a luxury car anyway. I appreciate y'all complaining because it means everyone will get a solution eventually, keep on keepin' on.

I'm not convinced that this issue is even resolved. Many people including myself still get condensation/water in our tail lights even after they have been replaced. I'm hoping they extend our warranties if this doesn't really get resolved soon.

It amazes me how Toyota can't get this fixed?

So I called in today and they told me they replaced the gasket on the right side but the left side had all kinds of water spots so they order a new tail for the right...another day of no car.

Why didn't that just order new tails yesterday??? You didn't notice water then?!?!?!

I haven't seen the water return since it has been warmer. I wash my car weekly and check for condensation. Only time I catch it is when I wash it, and if it gets really cold the next morning. Only time I caught it.

I still have yet to go to the dealer to get this fixed after seeing all these posts. It really sounds like there is a gasket issue. Going to continue to wait to see if a real concrete fix happens, kinda like waiting on the crickets in the HFFP.
