I was told yesterday that we would likely see a handful of the front four piston kits in roughly 4 weeks. Again, that means a few reds and a few blacks. After those are gone, I'm not really sure how long it will take for us to receive the rest of our initial shipment. Hopefully it won't be long, but that's out of my/our control. My advice to anyone considering them is that if you want one of the first batch, get your order in asap. I'm not trying to use scare tactics or anything. I just don't want those who are serious about this kit sitting around waiting without one when their first track day of the spring season rolls around. I've done that sort of thing myself...made the decision to buy something...didn't act on it...then missed my chance. That actually happened to me the other day with a guitar...doh. Obviously you shouldn't do anything you're uncomfortable with, but I don't think there will be any disappointments with this kit. AP Racing has been to this rodeo once or twice. The kits will be of the highest quality, and perform and look great, as one can assume about any of their products. All I can stress is making sure to check wheel fitment with the template. Again, I will continue to post more details as they come in.

Also, I'm supposed to have the rear kits next week! They are four piston, one-piece disc, and mate up to both the four and six piston front setups. I will take pics and post specs on those as soon as they land.

Unfortunately not yet. My understanding is that the kits Essex will be receiving are the first batch to be released globally, so there aren't any on cars yet. That means whoever buys one of these will be the first in the world to be rocking the official AP Racing Formula Kit. :happy0180:

Great. Just call 704-824-six zero three zero and ask for Daniel (one of our salesmen). If he's not available, ask for me (Jeff Ritter). I'll get you squared away. For me, this makes a HUGE difference. Knowledgeble people to help make the RIGHT choices the first time saves money.

Thanks!

I'm still a long way off purchasing due to an over exuberant Christmas spending spree. I never learn

Hahahah...that is actually true. There is a bridge out that they don't plan to reopen for 2 years!!!! I guess we won't see Daniel for a while!

Great talking with you OrbitalEllipses, and thank you very much for your business!:happy0180:

On the topic of weight...I still don't have firm numbers, but I want to be clear that this front four piston system will be lighter than the OEM setup. Our huge six piston kit weighs only a tiny bit more than stock, so there's no way this one is going to be close.

I'm going to ballpark the caliper weight at 5.75-6 lbs. vs. stock weight of 7.8 lbs. The OEM disc weighs about 17 lbs. Based on the weights of other similar sized discs in the AP Racing catalog, I'm going to put this disc at about 13-14 lbs. including hat and hardware. You have to factor in brackets, lines, hardware, etc.

I'm going to conservatively estimate that the total corner weight of the AP setup will be roughly 4-5 lbs. lighter than stock, or an overall 8-10 lb. unsprung weight reduction from the car. I actually think the weight loss will be a little greater than that, but I don't want to get peoples' hopes too high.

I'd assume in the neighborhood of $200-250 per disc. Shouldn't have to replace the hat as often from my understanding, but I'll let @JRitt answer that.

Thanks for estimate! Do you think the rear kit will drop weight as well?
