So true, hopefully it's not too expensive OP!! Maybe consider 3rd party/independent shops too at this point since it'll likely be out of pocket cost

LOL @ people calling that fraud, as if they wouldn't do the same....

That sucks man. I've had my pulley on for 4000 miles and have had no issues. Try checking the balance of the Perrin pulley, they could have gotten a bad stock of aluminum.

This same thing happened to me, but I caught it immediately and was able to fix it before I had any issues. Did the billet seat for the pulley come out when you removed the stock pulley? If so, there is a keyway on the inside of that piece that is meant to line up with a key in the housing. I think its for the oil pump, but don't quote me on that. It's a bitch to reseat correctly. I had to shave out the corners of the keyway to let it slip in. It takes time, so be very patient.

I hope there's no permanent damage to your engine, but prepare for the worst. My advice for you now is to try to seat it correctly and install the stock pulley. Then return everything else you may have changed back to stock. Then tow it to the dealership and get it fixed hopefully under warranty.

My future advice is to always check your work before you drive away. If it doesn't look right, cut the power and fix it before trying it again. I hope everything is ok. Good luck.

I believe he stated that he put the stock pulley back on and it also wobbled. Oil seal would not cause wobble on a crank pulley to my knowledge. Would cause oil leak...........I think I would look for a reputable shop that services Subaru's in your area first for a diagnosis before the dealer. (One that has a small boroscope). Hopefully you have not damaged the key-way slot in the end of the crankshaft, which would not be good.

Ya o think it might be then same thing that happened to you. When I pulled out the billet seat the second time there's a small indent where I don't think it was lined up when I put the new pulley on. I have a friend that is really good with stuff like this and he's going to look at it tomorrow. I'm hopping its just a seal.

This is what I'm afraid of with the I stall of this pulley. Idk if I should do it myself :/

Good luck on getting this fixed and keep us posted on your findings.

"Do I want to spend five grand on a new motor? No."

I'm not condoning it, but if all most people have to do to save five grand is swap a pulley....

The same thing happened with mine(the wabble part not the oil) make sure the pulley is parallel to the engine when you torque it. We used a pry bar to keep it straight. And watch it when you put it on before you start driving it.

Oh sorry, let me rephrase.

"Should I rip the dealer off because I don't want to spend 5 grand? Well, they rip more people off on trade-ins, so I guess it's ok."

Better?

Directly behind the crank pulley is the front oil seal. Inside said seal there may be a small spring. The spring may have unseated from inside the seal. That would leave it hanging on the nose of the crank. When you put the pulley back on and tighten it the spring will only be between the top of the pulley and the stop on the crank. The wobble comes from the spring. The leak is also caused by the spring not being in the seal.
