Yes, you are $50 high. All of this is available for under $399, except for the mounting brackets for the Mocal oil cooler, you'll have to fabricate your own.

I am not bashing Chris and Jeff Perrin, my entire exhaust system is Perrin, I'm merely pointing out the obvious availability of equal quality components for those who have choices and DIY skills.

obviously they need to make a profit and the kit is for the guy who doesnt want to order all parts separate...

there is a custom adapter they machined that you would need to fab up too, plus the feet Perrin has machined(cnc) makes mounting a breeze, its a tested solution, by the time you are done DIY its still $500+ by my math, costs..

something goes to perrin for putting it together testing it and thats only if you buy it from them.

Retail pricing is just that as well, Perrin has lots of holiday sales and great service to back it up. Sure you can piece a kit together but who do you call if there's a problem?

Oh please. I'm not saying Perrin has done this, but there's always that "installed by a professional" disclaimer with all these products AND the "off-road use only" clause; not to mention the warranty is against manufacturer DEFECT, not installation error. Installation error is where most problems will occur. Defective parts you buy yourself have their own warranties through respective manufacturers. Is it nice to go to Perrin when you have a problem? Yes. Would I pay for fancy brackets that make my life easier because I don't know any fabricators? Probably.

Just giving more perspective on this...

okay, so for the price of one, perrin has sent me basically two kits, minus the core, after I had an issue as a tester with not using hose clamps,

at no charge, shipped free, sent me twice the hose so I do 'do over' twice the clamps, all new fittings etc, I for one got my money's worth, and keep going back to Jeff Perrin's shop for more of that stellar service.

granted I do testing for them, but it appears they treat everyone pretty special if you call them with an issue.
thats another perspective

You made my point exactly, if you have trouble installing your pieced together kit there is nobody to call. I can call Perrin or use their online help and get results immediately. I'm just tired of people complaining about Perrin pricing in their threads, i have a few vendors that have my complete confidence and they are Perrin, FA20Club, and Motiv Concepts. They are all in business to make a profit and you get what you pay for, awesome service and great quality parts.
