The little door over the dash plug doesn't close completely over it but you can hardly tell it's there. It looks like the door just isn't snapped shut. And 32G holds plenty of road music.
I have one of these. The problem is I need my playlists. Folders are nice, but if you have to duplicate files just to have the same file in two folders, well eventually you're gonna chew up space fast.

I also think the re-route suggested by sure74 sounds like a good idea.
Might give that a try, but I've just been using bluetooth to stream music off my ipod touch. No cables involved!

I could probably find this information, but someone help me out: does the BRZ headunit play .FLAC files? Ideally, I'd stick a bunch of them on a USB stick and just set/forget.

No driver needed. Does your thumbdrive have a light on it? Do you see the light flash when plugged into the car?

Nevermind; It sorted itself out. I had to plug it in a few times to get it to work. Thanks.

Thread back from the dead for the following:

i got a new flash drive to use with the stock stereo and 90% of it works great. A few songs, for some reason, will only play back in slow motion while the rest of the tracks play back at full speed. The distribution of which ones are messed up seems pretty random.

Anyone have any ideas on this one?

I have a question about playing from USB drive too. When I select a folder to play, I can't figure out how it sorts. It doesn't seem to do it alphabetically on file name or track name. Doesn't seem to do it based on any of the id3 tags or on file size. Is anyone else having this problem?

It's sorted however you have the sorting set when you look at the drive on the computer. At least it does for me, there are about three folders on mine that are set to alphabetical order and that's how they play, while others are sorted by track number.

Thanks! I'll try it out. This seems really strange to me.

I put in a UBS hub. I used my 64gig and then a 32gig USB drive in the non-powered hub and it would only read 1 usb stick.

You answered your question with the bolded part.

The USB port only sends out enough power for one device comfortably. I doubt it can be consistent on what will be seen if too much is drawn from the single usb connector. You need a powered hub for more than 1 USB device to work properly and even then I would rather just use one big USB device as I do not see the radio having the logic to pick between usb devices - so probably not a good idea to use the hub.
