Ahh so you already have those winter tires? Try to get them mounted, some tire shops may refuse or charge extra if they realize it.

It'll work just fine, a shop might complain, but you should take on the responsibility of doing so. If it was my own car, they would be mounted though.

I don't think they will be that hard to mount or anything, i know of trucks with 7" wheels with 265 tires stock, i know it's a different type tire but i'm sure they would rather mount a 235 on a 7 than stretch it on a 9.5.

In fact Dunlop says a 265/75 trunk tire fits on a 7" wheel in the specs as an suggested rim size.

They will work fine for winter tires, not trying to start an argument here but as said by FT86SpeedFactory and others there shouldn't be a problem.

It's a winter tire so i'm sure handling is not going to be a hugh priority. I didn't say it was ideal but if he wants to run them since he already owns them i don't see a problem.

I just read it as he was trying to put a tire too small to seat the bead. LOL. I've seen people try to do that believe it or not. |

currently have a squared set up 19 x 8.5 225/35. switching to staggered set up. its going to be my 1st staggered setup. 19 x 8.5 F i'll be running 225/35, 19 x 9.5 R whats the ideal tire size for the rear? with no rubbing and of course kinda scared to scratch the wheels on the rear going on curb.

SLightly Stretched Tires on 18x8.5 & 18x9?
Hello each and every one of you. I have a couple of questions about stretching tires on 18x8.5/9 rims.
1. What would be a great tire size to slightly stretch on those rim sizes? 2. Will it cut handling performance? 3. Will it cut treadlife on the tire? Uneven wear? I will not track my car and will be a daily driver, but still would like to take my car on windy roads such as Calaveras Boulevard in Milpitas. Please help me learn any knowledge that you may have since I am still very very very new to any concepts of tuning/modding/etc. Much Love & Appreciation |

I've run 235/40 on 8.5 and 8.75" and they aren't really stretched at all but are about perfect. A lot of guys run 225/40 or 245/35 as well but i like the 235/40 for filling out the fenderwells especially if you don't plan on lowering.
