Yes. 14.7:1 is ideal at idle for FI. Under load or WOT 12.5 to 12.9 is ideal for FI.

Yamaha will tune the intake and exhaust, so porting and polishing would help.

The crank would be forged and the connecting rods would be high strength steel, so you could probably raise the RPM limiter or fuel cut off.
itrbs probably gain more than 200hp?

At the cost of peak power of 14k-15k rpm, with no mid range power...

You missed the point. Yamaha could easily get more than 200 hp from 2 liters.

That is stupid. Strap on a turbo and it's easy to get over 1000hp....

But turbo doesn't sound good, has lag and is not responsive. Also, if the FT-86 is light it does not need 400 Nm. Too much "kick-in-the-ass" torque would make the rear wills spin even in third gear and the car will be controlable but unstable when grip is needed.

Says who? BMW and VAG certainly disagrees with you....

There's a million factors to consider, I don't know where to start!

Although not turbo, drive an Lotus Elise and an Elise supercharged back to back and then tell me which is better. And these cars are way lighter than the FT86 will ever be!

I think all we need is a VERY tiny turbo.

That way people that want larger turbo can go bigger easier.

And those that don't want kicking torque will not be mad about it.

What I REALLY would smile about is if it was a twin tiny turbos
