ITB, how much more power?

Since we know there won't be FI to start, how hard would it be to do ITB and how much more performance can be had?

It seems like the easiest way to increase performance. There are other considerations, ECU and maybe exhaust headers. The Toyota ECU is not friendly to re-mapping and it would by wire. This would mean a stand alone.

So how much power and how hard is it to do?

Isn't Yamaha known for ITB?

ITBs can be a PITA the get tuned right. And it's going to be pretty pointless without the need for a whole lot more air coming in the motor. I've used ITBs before but never saw gains unless the motor was built (cams, high compression, etc).

Yeah Yamaha is still using them on their motorcycles. The latest gen R1 is 12.7:1 and the R6 is 13.1:1.

Probably a giant PITA with ETC.

In SoCal, I hear there're ways around it. I also hear that some people keep their car registered in AZ to avoid the ETC.

Not sure I would personally run ITB on a DD car. Maybe if it was my track only car I would consider it.

Are you sure the ECU is going to be Toyota's? I wonder if they will each get their own?

If the stock filter and manifold have good flow they probably won't do that much...and eventually all cars are going to have variable intake duration throttling so ITB will become obsolete :)

Subaru or Toyota, we're screwed on ECU part. Both of em are nightmare

You don't know SoCal. I've seen ITBs on DD.

Speaking of ITB on DD, don't they usually have sketchy filter setups (=faster engine wear from the random dust and shit)? Do people ever put proper filters on them?

Isn't this motor supposed to be direct injection? Are ITBs even an option with hyper-pressurized fuel delivery?

Why wouldn't it be?

Most I've seen run without filter. A friend has a 74 Celica without filter.
