I'm looking for increased throttle response that comes from having a solid pipe and better breathing that comes with a cone air filter. Obviously make a custom heat shield or buy an intake system that has a heat shield, a throatier sound from the intake that doesn't require a sound tube to the cabin and over all a slight horsepower gain BUT I am looking for a system that will bolt up without leaning out the car. The fix so far seems to be installing the intake and or any parts with the battery disconnected. I don't want to have to look into a piggie back ecu until I want to turbo up. Thank you for your advice but there is a method to my madness that won't suffice by a drop in air filter.

Since people "claim" the injen intake makes your car run lean no matter what but can you actually prove it? Everyone I know in MD with the kit has had no issues whether they have an ecu tune or not. By the way its a short ram intake not a cold air intake but the filter does sit right in front of the snorkel thats supposed to draw in outside air albeit with a opening that allows some air from the engine bay to come in.
