I had the same experience. No dice on trying to change the IDs in the ECU.

I used the cable and software to record my existing TPMS sensor IDs. I'm also planning to order an ATEQ Quickset. I'll go to the dealer now, and have them reprogrammed. Then in the spring I can use the QuickSet to switch between the two sets of IDs that I have.

What a pain in the ass this is. Why can't Toyota and Subaru implement TPMS ID change procedures that can be completed by a consumer?

OK, no go for me either. I agree with neutron256, I think our Chinese Mongoose cables are missing whatever functionality Toyota requires to do a TPMS write.

I'll be ordering the ATEQ Quickset as well, but since I don't need to change out my tires until the spring, I'll wait until then.

I'll try flashing something with Techstream + Tactrix2.0 on Monday. So far I only used it to verify stuff, and change a few settings, like opening both doors with one button press.

I'll be curious to see what you find. I've been able to get everything except programming TPMS. If you can get it to work I might invest in a Tactrix 2.0 cable.

I received my cable and latest version of Techstream with the Scion codes (despite me having a BRZ Limited).

All I can say on how excited I am at all the options I tweaked as well as been able to monitor and test is... HOLY FUCKING SHIT THIS IS COOL! Well worth the $32 cable and latest Techstream I got off of EBay.

Wow.

Question for anyone who has the TIS Lite:

Can you bleed the master cylinder/ABS module with this software? Lots of Toyota cars and trucks need to be bled with the aid of a computer or Toyota scan tool if you happen to get air into the master cylinder and/or ABS module. A friend of mine has a Snap-On Modis scan tool that can do it, but it's like $8000. If TIS Lite can do it, I'm buying it for sure.

Got my cable and loaded the software onto my daughter's netbook (the only XP computer we have). So far so good.

The instructions say to select "Europe." Anyone confirm if this is needed? I tried North America and had no issues with the BRZ. It loaded up as a FRS and I could see everything, no issues. Did a little logging of oil temperature.

However, with my '06 Tundra I had all kinds of crashes and issues. When I switched to "Europe" it seemed to work a lot better and 6 years later, I can finally unlock all the doors with a single press on the remote.

So, "Europe" or "North America."?

Next up will be a longer drive with some data logging on the BRZ.

Does this engine actually have an oil temperature sensor, or is it just a mapped value?

It has a sensor (right below the oil filter). I was surprised too.

Does anyone know what the Subaru equivalent to Techstream is? I've got an Outback that has some things that need reprogramming.

It is NOT the Lite version. I can do everything I want to accept TPMS (from what I gather so far).

In good with the dealer. There is no equivalent. What they have doesn't even work with the BRZ (tried it three different visits). Talked to the mechanics. They actually had to order Techstream for this car.

North America for BRZ.

Anyone have any luck with the TPMS IDs? It doesn't sound like it, from the several that tried it. Just hoping I don't need to take it to the dealer...

Thanks!
