The white tachometer dial works because it draws your eyes right to it.

I'm not sure I understand. If there's wiring for the old cluster. Why won't there be wiring for the replacement one?

GT cluster = No digital speed
GTS Cluster = Digital speed read out + other fancy bits

The questions is whether a GTS cluster will plug and play in a GT car?

Ive been wondering whether this would be a plug and play as well. Maybe a GTS owner and GT owner could test it out? I know the wiring harness plug is the same for the GT, GTS and BRZ cluster, im 100% on that. Im just not sure whether the GT has the appropriate wiring for the digital speedometer to work.

I currently own a 2011 corolla ascent and that car had all the prewiring in place for the fog lights and cruise control, I just bought the parts from the wreckers from an up spec model and it was plug and play. Im hoping this will be the same for the speedometer.

IIRC, swapping the gauge clusters would need to involve some sort of re-programming from the dealers due to the mileage and what not ? So this would be more than a question of is it pNp ?

It is plug and plug but swapping cluster wont work. Few people tried with no luck. apparently you need to swap ECU, cluster, key etc.
Or reprogram the cluster but no dealer will do that for you in australia...
