Those are black. Keep in mind that lighting conditions will change the way it will look. Gunmetal will certainly give you a little more contrast.

As far as tire size... Are you implying that since the rears are close to rubbing at 255 that the fronts are even closer to rubbing with 255?
Both are pretty close.

What sorta camber settings are you seeing after dropping on your mach v springs?
Some decent camber (1.75 degrees) in the back, but only a smidge (0.2 degrees) up front without any other hardware. We got an extra degree from the Whiteline Com C mounts.

Sorry for inundating you with questions Dan, but how is the clearance to the strut in front. Any crash bolts (since they would change strut clearance)? Also, is it the same tire size on the blue car?

Yes, it has the bolts in front. It's tight clearance, but not touching anything.

The blue car has 245/40R17.

Yes, on Mach V springs.

In general, if a FR-S or BRZ doesn't look like it's wearing high-water pants, it's dropped.

Do you or will you ever make these in 17x8?

If so, PM me a price?

I see that the weight is 37.xx lbs for the combo you have, and I see that Tire rack has the weights for the P Zero @ 28lbs for that size... just wondering how there can be such a huge 8lb discrepancy in weight for that tire from Tire Rack?

These wheels in 17x8 with about a +42mm offset would be nice...

I actually haven't seen a single 255/40/17 tire on tire rack weigh less than 25 lbs.

This means that either they dont report the weights correctly or .... this rim weighs less than 17 lbs? Or the mach v scale is broken? I dunno

That was a first-article wheel that was slightly lighter than the final production wheel, and a used tire, and the tire was old. I don't know if the tire was an older, lighter design, but it definitely was not at full tread depth. Our production wheels weigh 17.8 pounds.

Our scale is not broken. I got the same weights for the OEM parts (like the stock wheel/tire) as other people on here.

We might do this in the future, but it'll be at least a few months off.

Thanks again Dan. If possible I would like to see more pictures of the blue car, so I can see where the outside of the tires falls relative to the fenders, I would also like the know the camber and parts used on the blue car. Also, so on the White car, were the crash bolts used to make the camber more or less negative. Just trying to nail down the best possible wheel dimensions for 245-40-17 where handling is more important than looks. Seeing this I am thinking the 17x9 may be a hair too wide, maybe 17x8.5 with a 45mm offset would be perfect--if you are looking to make a new wheel .

P.S. Tire rack lists the P-zero rosso 255-40-17 as 22lb, so it's not that much of a discrepancy.

Our Mach V lowering springs. No other parts, as far as I know. It belongs to Gillman Subaru of Texas.

More! Leaving the stock bolts in makes it less.

245 fits fine on a 9" wheel. It'll be slightly plump on an 8.5 -- stock WRX STI comes with 245 on an 8.5" wheel these days.

I doubt you'll find even a 17x8.5" wheel at this price that's under 18 pounds, though.

My thinking is that the crash bolts are just smaller bolts, so you should be able to use them to adjust the camber an equal amount + or - from whatever it happens to be without them. Was thinking with the com-c's you may have taken camber out with the bolts.

I may want to do just that, my car does enough highway that I really need to stay away from more than about .75 static neg in front. I was thinking about using the com-c's to add more nagative camber than I want, then use crash bolts to take some out, that way the wheel would be moved further away from the strut, letting me stay closer to the stock wheel offset, and helping to keep the tire inside the fender without using a lot of negative camber. I would still get the benefit of the castor from the com-s's.

Yup, 17x8.5 wheels are about as rare as hens teeth, but hopefully you understand my reasoning, they would pull the 245's in just enough to get them between the fender and the strut, while sticking with a reasonable wheel/tire match, i.e. much better than putting the 245's on an 8" wide wheel, might be OK with 17x9 anyway, just not confident of it yet.
