Just to clear up the differences between the GRIP & DT-S exhaust systems, the DT-S has a slightly louder exhaust note because the rear muffler section has a different design. Piping diameter remains the same for both systems.

I've had both on my car. Actually, those pics are of my car. LOL

Here's my take. If you want the low profile sound/look go with the grip. It's quite quiet at idle, but will open up at WOT. The DTS on the other hand has a mean burbling idle and louder, but gives off a deep bass sound that the GRIP doesn't have until it's at WOT.

Let me just say that after having had both on my car, I immediately wanted the DTS. It's only after considering all aspects of my driving style and acceptable noise levels, for me personally, that I decided that I liked the GRIP for my DD. BTW, my communte is about 13 - 14 miles of bumper to bumper traffic. So that came in big as a consideration. Good luck to everyone ARK builds some good stuff and are a bunch of good guys.

I mean, is the DTS THAT much louder? I saw a pic somewhere with a db rating of 99.1 on the DTS with the test pipe. That is a little on the loud side but thats with a test pipe.

Its funny, at first I liked the look of the GRiP more, and now I am falling towards the DTS. I just am held back by the sound. I like how they both sound but I don't want to attract cops. I had the EVO3 and that is rated at 101 db just for the catback lol so whatever I get will be quieter.

Could you elaborate on why the DTS wouldn't be low profile as far as sound goes? is it just loud throughout the rpm range?

Yep, it's just plain louder/meaner throughout the rev range. I can't speak about any droning because I never got to get on ther hwy for any lenght of time, but it's definitely louder. It's noticable even at idle.

thanks...would you say its a ton louder than stock at idle? I really don't mind idle DB as long as it isn't ridiculous..but i can't see it being that much louder. But what do I know

I'm waiting to see what the DB and dyno readings will be. I was also told there was a last minute design change to quiet down the exhaust a bit, so i'm curious about that as well.

Sorry, but I'll have to stop here. Really, at this point it's difficult to really describe how much louder it is. It's not so loud as to wake up your neighborhood cat, but it's definitely louder. But at the same time, IMHO it sounds all so much more aggressive and meaner. Take that with a grain of salt.

Understandable, thanks for the input. It has helped.

I will still debate which to get for days upon days until I just suck it up and order one
