ARK Performance DTS Exhaust Press Release - FRS/BRZ - Check it Out!

ModBargains.com is the first to report on the ARK Performance DTS Exhaust! We all know how great the ARK GRIP Exhaust is, here is their DTS exhaust in all it's glory! All made from T304 Stainless, 2.5" piping with dual layered tips. This produces a signature ARK Performance exhaust note, something everybody is looking for. These will certainly go fast!

So this is the more aggresive sounding setup?

I wonder how this or the grip system will sound with the Nameless header and downpipe/overpipe. Maybe too loud for a daily.

Regardless its a nice looking system, just needs plain tips

If anyone has experience with Ark can they let us know what the differences are between the Grip and Dt-s systems? The things I am curious about are which is louder, difference in tone, and which produces more power. Thanks

Not sure about power, but the piping diameter on the dts is larger (better suited for boosted applications). IIRC, the grip is 98Db and the dts is 99Db. The dts has a slightly deeper tone, but it's not that noticeable from the videos (at leas I think). In regards to power, I'm not sure. most catbacks are at least 5whp.

As I have had both systems on my car from helping ARK out with fitment the difference is the grip exhaust has sound chambers that keep the sound down at lower RPM's where the DTS doesn't have the chambers and is a lot more aggressive. Both sound really good. This DTS is loud and louder with the test pipe. I'm getting the grip but still recommend either system. I think they might use my car for dyno testing for the grip and test pipe but we are waiting for the shipment to come in. I think they said they should be in on the 18th.

FYI: all cat backs will be in the same HP range but with the test pipe we will see. Give them time to dyno

Did you get to do much driving with the DTS? I use mine ad a DD and I'm wondering if the DTS has any drone in the mid-range because of the lack of chambers?

I drove it for maybe 3-5 miles guessing. On my test drive I didn't find it had drone issues. It's just louder then the grip and has a louder idle . Don't get me wrongi it sounds nice I just preferred the grip because I wanted it quite at idle/low speeds because I drive in a parking lot under my girlfriends apartment and didn't want to piss off the apartment complex (I'm not suppose to park under but they let me)

What sort of weight saving are you looking at with this setup?

Thanks for your help. I'm a young guy and I live in an open neighbourhood so I don't mind pissing a few people off. I just don't want to piss myself off every time I jump on the highway :D

Does it really matter anything is lighter then that heavy stock muffler lol

Really I don't know but when I picked up the system it wasn't too heavy

If I came off as an Ahole my bad wasn't trying to

I ordered the Grip for the same reason. I heard it was quieter at idle. Not to mention I think it looks sick. I was lucky to be number 3 out of 5 coming in to modbargains. I would suggest catching a sale like the one I got in on because the msrp is about 1600 check the vendor section there is a company with an intro sale for this exhaust.

Bingo!

We've already had a pretty astonishing amount of calls/PM's already about these. The GRIP exhausts we have on order, in total of 5, all of them sold within 6 hours, and I plan on these DTS systems to do the same for customers who want a more aggressive exhaust note.

What I've been hearing from the fellow test drivers and ARK is that you can really modulate the sound coming out from the exhaust, so if you can easily sneak by quite little areas of town without bothering anybody, but when you get on it you really rip through the RPMs.
